Chillva Market is hands down my favorite night market in Phuket. Located not far from Phuket Town, it’s got a trendy vibe with colorful shipping containers converted into stylish stalls. Compared to other markets, it has fewer tourists, giving it a more relaxed and local atmosphere.

• Food: Chillva Market is a foodie’s paradise. You’ll find classic Thai dishes like grilled seafood skewers, crispy chicken, pad Thai, and more. Don’t miss the tropical fruits like mango, dragon fruit, and guava, which are fresh and affordable. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the maleng (fried insects)—a crunchy snack that’s both exotic and high in protein! Wash it all down with refreshing Thai milk tea or a fresh coconut.

• Shopping: The market features plenty of stalls with stylish clothes, handmade jewelry, hats, and unique souvenirs at reasonable prices. It’s also a great place to shop for local crafts and eco-friendly items.
• Entertainment: One of the highlights of Chillva Market is the live music and performances. The vibe is always upbeat, with local bands or solo artists performing, making it a great place to hang out even if you’re not shopping.

• Relaxation: After a busy day exploring, why not indulge in a soothing Thai massage? Inside Chillva Market, there’s even a great massage spot offering excellent services at decent prices.

2. Phuket Sunday Street Market (Lard Yai Market)

The Phuket Sunday Street Market Walking Street, also called Lard Yai Market, is located along Thalang Road in the heart of Phuket Old Town. This bustling market is a favourite for its mix of food, shopping, and cultural ambiance.

• Shopping: The market is packed with stalls selling handmade crafts, Thai silk scarves, wooden carvings, and even vintage items. It’s one of the best places to pick up unique souvenirs to take home.
• Entertainment: Live music and street performances are common at Lard Yai Market, adding a lively energy to the already vibrant setting. There’s often cultural entertainment like traditional Thai dances as well.
• Timetable: Open every Sunday, 4 PM to 11 PM.

3. Naka Weekend Night Market

The Naka Weekend Night Market is the largest and most diverse local market in Phuket, offering something for everyone. It’s the go-to market for food lovers, shopaholics, and bargain hunters.

• Food: This market takes street food to the next level. Feast on grilled chicken, fresh seafood, mango sticky rice, spicy papaya salad, and even fried insects. You’ll also find stalls selling freshly blended fruit shakes, Thai iced tea, and herbal drinks to keep you cool as you browse.
• Shopping: From clothes, shoes, and accessories to electronics, home goods, and quirky souvenirs, you can find almost anything here. Bargaining is welcome, so don’t hesitate to negotiate for a good deal!

• Entertainment: Like the other markets, Naka Market has live music and occasional street performances, creating a festive atmosphere that makes it more than just a shopping trip.

• Timetable: Open every Saturday and Sunday, 4 PM to 10 PM.

With its sheer size and variety, the Naka Weekend Market is an unmissable destination in Phuket. It’s also conveniently located close to Central Phuket Mall, where you can shop for international brands if you’re looking for a more modern shopping experience.

Other Night Markets in Phuket island

If you have more time, here are a few other night markets in Phuket worth exploring:

Malin Plaza Patong

Located near Patong Beach, this market is smaller but known for its amazing food options, including grilled seafood, pancakes, and fresh juices.

The shopping includes casual clothes and accessories at decent prices, especially after bargaining.

Timetable: Open daily from 2 PM to 11 PM.

Patong OTOP Shopping Paradise

This market targets tourists and is a good spot for souvenirs, T-shirts, and beachwear. The prices are more expensive than a Thai local market, due to the location in Patong. There are also food stalls selling local dishes and drinks.

Timetable: Open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM.

Kata Night Market

While the food here is tasty, including grilled seafood and curries, it’s noticeably more expensive than at other Phuket Local Markets. Clothes and souvenirs also tend to be pricier.

Timetable: Open daily from 2 PM to 11 PM.

Phuket Indy Night Market

This small market in Phuket Town has a local, laid-back vibe. It’s great for sampling street food like satay and crepes or shopping for small handmade crafts.

Timetable: Open Wednesday to Friday, 4 PM to 10:30 PM.
